In the aftermath of the SandWing War, the MudWing tribe found itself on the edge of collapse. The war had ravaged their land, and the heart of the kingdom had crumbled, not from external enemies, but from within. Their queen—an ambitious and self-absorbed ruler—had turned her attention inward, consumed by personal power struggles with her siblings, neglecting the welfare of her people. Under her rule, the once proud MudWing society withered as the queen’s focus remained solely on her own rise, leaving the tribe fractured and leaderless.
When the queen’s reign ended abruptly with her death, the MudWings were left in turmoil. Her daughter, barely old enough to take the throne, was thrust into a world of chaos and uncertainty. Though still inexperienced and unsure of herself, the young princess—Queen CottonMouth—knew that the fate of the tribe rested on her shoulders. She took the throne with a grim determination, vowing to rebuild the kingdom, though her methods were unforgiving. Under her command, MudWings were drilled relentlessly in battle tactics, forced to sharpen their skills and transform their pain into strength. For years, the kingdom became a crucible of warriors, each dragon training not only for survival but for the promise of glory and restoration.
As Queen Bayou — Queen CottonMouth Daughter— matured, the weight of leadership began to settle into her bones. She learned that battle alone would not heal her tribe—she needed to rekindle the bond between her people and their heritage. In time, the fierce young queen grew into a wise and capable ruler, one who understood that true power was not simply drawn from the battlefield but from the hearts of those she led.
When Queen Bayou claimed the throne in full, she did not just seek to rule; she sought to forge her tribe anew. She reinvigorated the ancient traditions that had once united the MudWings—reviving sacred ceremonies like the Tidal Festival, a celebration of their deep connection to the swamp. She restored the Rite of Mud, a rite of passage that not only tested the strength of her warriors but rekindled a sense of pride in their roots. The queen made sure her people knew that survival was not just a matter of skill in combat, but a matter of unity.
Under Queen Bayou’s reign, the MudWings began to rise from the ashes of their former disarray. No longer just a tribe of warriors, they had become a tribe bound by tradition, honor, and a shared vision for the future. They were MudWings once more—not simply survivors, but a proud, united kingdom ready to reclaim their place among the tribes.
